ShweshweChic was birthed out of fashion designer and CEO Aldine Dallas's three-pronged dream; a passion for South Africa's Heritage and a vision of a unified nation, added to a desire to empower artisans and seamstresses to build their entrepreneurial dreams plus a personal need to create beautiful garments to flatter a proudly curvaceous body. Aldine started by revamping shoes; bringing pumps, takkies, stilettos and boots back to life with Shweshwe and African print fabrics. She then created a range of accessories through a team of Gogo’s who followed the fabric swatches for their inspiration. Finally a wide range of dresses, maxi skirts and jackets exploded onto the Durban Market, cross-selling easily into maternity wear.
